DAY 5 -7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

 DAY 5 – December 29  Nia (Purpose)

Purpose begins when we put God first. When we seek His kingdom and righteousness, He guides every part of our lives.

Matthew 6:33 NLT

Seek the Kingdom of God above all elseand live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

When we seek God first, everything else falls into place. Purpose means letting God’s righteousness guide our decisions, not money, power, or popularity.

 Daily Reminder:

When we put God first, our lives gain direction and meaning. Purpose begins with seeking His will above all else.

Prayer:
God, help us seek You first and live each day with purpose and integrity.

Nia- to make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community to restore our people to their traditional greatness.

DAY 4 -7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

DAY 4 – Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics)

The Lord teaches us to share generously and do good. He is pleased when we do good and share with others. Generosity strengthens our families, churches, and communities.

Hebrews 13:16

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

As this Bible verse reflects, Christians are instructed to share their wealth and make sacrifices for others. At the macro level, this suggests that our economic system reflects principles, policies, and practices of “shared wealth,” and that we have a social safety net for those who are less fortunate and in need of assistance.

Daily Reminder:

Sharing and generosity please God. As Christians, we are called to support one another and help those in need.

Prayer:

Lord, teach us to be generous and willing to share the blessings You’ve given us.

DAY 3 -7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

Day 3 – December 28  Ujima (Collective Work & Responsibility)

Today’s principle reminds us that we need one another. God created us to work together and care for each other as one body in Christ.

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:21–25

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!”, 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the unpresentable parts are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.

Daily Reminder:

We are stronger together. God reminds us that everyone matters and that caring for one another builds a healthier community.

Prayer:

Father, help us care for one another and share responsibility with love and compassion. Amen
