Moment of inspiration with Sister Audrey

7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

Kwanzaa is a special celebration that lasts for seven days, starting on December 26 and ending on January 1. It honors African and African American culture. Unlike Christmas or Hanukkah, Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday, but its important values—like unity, purpose, and faith—are meaningful to many Christians. I would like to share 7 days of Kwanzaa with a Christian Reflection.

Heavenly Father,

We thank You for bringing us together today. As we reflect on the principles of Kwanzaa, help us see how Your Word guides us in unity, purpose, and faith. Open our hearts and minds to grow closer to You and to one another.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 1 – December 26

Umoja (Unity) Living together in peace and love
Lord, help us live in unity, speaking and acting in ways that bring peace and togetherness.

Psalm 133:1  How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!

Reflection:

Today, we reflect on Umoja, which means unity. God is pleased when we live together in peace and harmony. As Christians, we are called to use our words and actions to bring people together, not divide them.

Daily Reminder:
Today, we reflect on unity. As Christians, we are called to bring people together through love, peace, and understanding.

Prayer: Lord, help us live in unity, speaking and acting in ways that bring peace and togetherness.
