DAY 6 -7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

DAY 6 -7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

DAY 6 - Creativity/Kuumba: Using our gifts to uplift others.

God calls us to grow and renew our minds. Creativity is using our God-given gifts to uplift our families, our youth, and our communities.

Romans 12:2 NIV

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect

This verse is a potent reminder that perfection is achieved through the renewing of the mind, set against high spiritual and ethical standards. For youth, this verse suggests that progressive perfection, continuous improvement, comes about through self-conscious ethical thought and practice.

Daily Reminder:

God calls us to grow, improve, and use our gifts to make a positive difference in the world around us.

Prayer:

Lord, renew our minds and help us use our gifts to uplift our families and communities.

Day 6 - Creativity/Kuumbe: Doing always as much as we can to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.

DAY 5 -7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

 DAY 5 – December 29  Nia (Purpose)

Purpose begins when we put God first. When we seek His kingdom and righteousness, He guides every part of our lives.

Matthew 6:33 NLT

Seek the Kingdom of God above all elseand live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

When we seek God first, everything else falls into place. Purpose means letting God’s righteousness guide our decisions, not money, power, or popularity.

 Daily Reminder:

When we put God first, our lives gain direction and meaning. Purpose begins with seeking His will above all else.

Prayer:
God, help us seek You first and live each day with purpose and integrity.

Nia- to make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community to restore our people to their traditional greatness.

DAY 4 -7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

DAY 4 – Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics)

The Lord teaches us to share generously and do good. He is pleased when we do good and share with others. Generosity strengthens our families, churches, and communities.

Hebrews 13:16

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

As this Bible verse reflects, Christians are instructed to share their wealth and make sacrifices for others. At the macro level, this suggests that our economic system reflects principles, policies, and practices of “shared wealth,” and that we have a social safety net for those who are less fortunate and in need of assistance.

Daily Reminder:

Sharing and generosity please God. As Christians, we are called to support one another and help those in need.

Prayer:

Lord, teach us to be generous and willing to share the blessings You’ve given us.

DAY 3 -7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

Day 3 – December 28  Ujima (Collective Work & Responsibility)

Today’s principle reminds us that we need one another. God created us to work together and care for each other as one body in Christ.

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:21–25

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!”, 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the unpresentable parts are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.

Daily Reminder:

We are stronger together. God reminds us that everyone matters and that caring for one another builds a healthier community.

Prayer:

Father, help us care for one another and share responsibility with love and compassion. Amen

say, in the way you live, in your love

 your faith, and your purity.

—especially for our youth.

Moment of inspiration with Sister Audrey

7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

Kwanzaa is a special celebration that lasts for seven days, from December 26 to January 1. It honors African and African American culture. Unlike Christmas or Hanukkah, Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday, but its important values—like unity, purpose, and faith—are meaningful to many Christians. I would like to share 7 days of Kwanzaa with a Christian Reflection.

Heavenly Father,

We thank You for bringing us together today. As we reflect on the principles of Kwanzaa, help us see how Your Word guides us in unity, purpose, and faith. Open our hearts and minds to grow closer to You and to one another.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 1 – December 26

Umoja (Unity) Living together in peace and love
Lord, help us live in unity, speaking and acting in ways that bring peace and togetherness.

Psalm 133:1  How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!

Reflection:

Today, we reflect on Umoja, which means unity. God is pleased when we live together in peace and harmony. As Christians, we are called to use our words and actions to bring people together, not divide them.

Daily Reminder:
Today, we reflect on unity. As Christians, we are called to bring people together through love, peace, and understanding.

Prayer: Lord, help us live in unity, speaking and acting in ways that bring peace and togetherness.

Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

 Evening Prayer

Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
"So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up."

This reminds us that God’s timing is perfect, His faithfulness is sure, and our patience and trust in Him are never in vain.

Prayer

Father,
I pray for all of us and for everyone in our lives. Help us to keep doing what is right, even when challenges arise. Thank You for the hope and purpose You place within us, and for the promise that our labor for You is never wasted. Strengthen us to persevere, trusting that in Your perfect time, our efforts will produce a rich and meaningful harvest. In Jesus' name, Amen

Prayer for the Children

Heavenly Father,
I thank You for blessing our children and grandchildren, and for guiding them according to Your perfect timing. Cover them with the blood of Jesus throughout the day and through the night. Strengthen them to keep doing what is right, even when challenges come. Help them never to give up on doing good and to remain faithful in prayer, knowing that in due season they will receive their reward—just as You have promised.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Closing

Let us continue lifting one another in prayer, knowing that our prayers unite us, strengthen us, and keep us grounded in faith.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“God Will Provide” Scripture: Philippians 4:19 (NIV)-“In the Right Time” Scripture: Psalm 145:15 (NLT) -“More Than a Meal” Scripture: Matthew 25:35 (NIV)

 Response 2

That’s wonderful to hear 💛 — here’s your printable 8.5×11 cue card layout for both messages, styled in your standard format: clear bold headers, natural pauses (⏸), easy-to-read spacing, and a speaking flow that feels natural and heartfelt.
It’s ready for printing or for me to turn into a PDF version when you’re ready.

🌾 Cue Card 1 — “God Will Provide”

Scripture: Philippians 4:19 (NIV)
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Welcome

Good evening, everyone. ⏸
It’s a blessing to gather in prayer for those who are hurting, hungry, and facing hardship. ⏸
We come together not just with words, but with hearts full of compassion. ⏸
Because when we pray, God listens—and God moves.

Main Message

Sometimes, life feels uncertain. ⏸
Bills pile up, shelves grow empty, and hearts grow tired. ⏸
But even in those moments, we can trust that God sees us.

When we pray for others—those without food, warmth, or a place to rest—we’re not just speaking words. ⏸
We’re joining our faith with God’s promises.

Think about this:
A food truck pulling into a community center right when the pantry is running low. ⏸
A neighbor showing up with extra blankets on a freezing night. ⏸
A volunteer finding the strength to serve another day. ⏸

These moments remind us that God provides through people like us.
We become the answer to someone’s prayer.

So tonight, we lift our hands and declare:
“He’s an on-time God, yes He is!”
He may not come when we want Him, but He’s always right on time.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
We thank You for being our Provider. ⏸
Let the shelves be stocked. ⏸
Let the volunteers be strong. ⏸
Let the trucks bring food to those in need. ⏸
Let no child cry from hunger. ⏸
And no elder choose between medicine and meals. ⏸
Let food banks overflow with blessings. ⏸
We speak abundance, grace, and peace over weary hearts.
In Jesus’ name—Amen.

🌻 Cue Card 2 — “In the Right Time”

Scripture: Psalm 145:15 (NLT)
“The eyes of all look to you in hope; you give them their food as they need it.”

Opening

We serve a God who provides right on time.
When we lift our voices in prayer, heaven hears every cry. ⏸
God moves through helping hands, open hearts, and acts of kindness. ⏸
Even when things look uncertain, God is working behind the scenes to bring hope and provision.

Prayer

Lord,
Thank You for hearing the prayers of Your people. ⏸
Bless every home in need. ⏸
Strengthen those who serve others with love. ⏸
And remind us all that You are never late—you’re always right on time.
Amen.

🍞 Cue Card 3 — “More Than a Meal”

Scripture: Matthew 25:35 (NIV)
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.”

Short Message

When we serve a meal, we’re doing more than filling stomachs—we’re filling hearts with hope. ⏸
Each plate served says, “You are not forgotten.”
Each prayer spoken reminds someone that God still cares.
This is what love looks like in action.

Prayer

Lord,
Let every act of giving be filled with Your love. ⏸
Feed the hungry, comfort the hurting, and send peace where it’s needed most. ⏸
Use us as Your hands and feet to bring hope to our community.
In Jesus’ name—Amen.

💬 Closing Reflection

We lift our hands and declare once more:
“He’s an on-time God, yes He is.”
We’ve seen Him arrive with just enough, just in time.
And we believe—He will do it again.

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

"I am Sending warm wishes to all the lovely mothers on this beautiful and blessed Mother's Day."

And now, these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV

A perfect and loving family is what we all wish for. We see people who have families that are much different from ours. As we experience their unique culture, we wish we had a family like them. But really, having a perfect family isn't possible. We all will have problems and accomplishments that make us unique from every other family worldwide. So, think hard about how different your family is. Appreciate that you have a family and are never alone because they help us through tough times. It is never foolish to wish for a perfect family, but it is unwise to abandon your unique family.

Grandma's Recipe for a Loving Family
4 cups of love
2 cups of loyalty
3 cups of forgiveness
1 cup of friendship
5 tablespoons of hope
2 tablespoons of tenderness
4 quarts of faith
1 barrel of laughter

Take love and loyalty, and mix them thoroughly with faith.
Blend it with tenderness, kindness, and understanding.
Add friendship and hope.
Sprinkle abundantly with laughter.
Bake it in the sunshine.
Serve daily with generous helpings.
Serves one entire home forever.
